The Old Barn Cafe
Situated in the Courtyard opposite the Sculpture Park, a three minutes’ walk from the Vyrnwy Dam, The Old Barn Cafe provide a wide variety of home-made meals, cakes and puddings.As you relax on the terrace, sampling our lovely home made food, you can also browse from afar into our neighbour’s various shops or just simply enjoy the view of the dam. You could even use our cycle hire facility for a lovely ride around the lake.We are open from March to October, our opening times are: 10 am to 5pm in spring and autumn, 10am to 6 pm in summer.Buffet lunches and evening meals for groups available on booking.

Our Head Chef David Thompson has gathered a vibrant & talented brigade together to produce food for our rosette awarded restaurant. The main emphasis is to cook creative yet wholesome food, using seasonal fresh local produce for which Wales and its borderlands are renowned. The hotel has the sporting rights to the estate and in season much of the game shot finds its way to the kitchen. Don’t expect formality - just good service and a friendly approach. During the summer months enjoy your lunch (Mon – Sat) alfresco style on our dining terrace over-looking the lake. Our wine list has over 100 listings, ranging from affordable drinking, to fine wines for the connoisseur.

The Tavern Bar & Lounge at Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa Our public bar & lounge areas offer a more informal dining experience. Enjoy a light brasserie-style menu in the summer months, choosing from classic Caesar salad or baked flat mushrooms stuffed with leeks and topped with humus and mozzarella for starters, and ribeye steak or mushroom Lasagne for mains followed by home-made crumble or fresh fruit salad for dessert (children’s menu also available). You can even dine on the terrace overlooking the lake, or warm by the cosy log fire in the public bar in the winter. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and on the outside terrace.

LAKESIDE STORES
Dafarn Newydd Shop and Petrol Station is situated in the village of Llanwddyn approximately 1 mile from the Dam at Lake Vyrnwy.
The shop is run by Andrew and Colleen Johnson and offers a friendly service to local residents, day trippers and holidaymakers alike, selling a wide range of goods including diesel, petrol, off-licence sales, newspapers and magazines, fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen food and bread. The shop is also a licensed National Lottery Outlet.
Welcome packs
If you are planning a holiday or short stay in one of the many caravan parks around the area then why not contact the shop and arrange for a welcome pack to be ready for collection on your arrival. Newspapers can be booked for the duration of your stay.
Fresh Meat
In conjunction with a local butcher the shop can order you fresh meat for collection on a Friday afternoon or a Saturday morning. For both the welcome packs and fresh meat please contact the shop 7 days prior to arrival so that they can arrange extra deliveries with their suppliers.
